How to read the data

Mirror data from partner countries

PARTNERDeclares anexportto VenezuelaVENEZUELARead as aVenezuelanimportmirrorand vice versaVenezuela has not reported to UN Comtrade since 2013
  1. 1

Venezuela has not reported since 2013

Its trade statistics have not appeared in UN Comtrade since that year.

  2. 2

    We read the mirror

An export a partner declares to Venezuela counts as a Venezuelan import, and vice versa.

  3. 3

    We rank in relative terms

We show indexes and shares to compare partners, not exact Venezuelan customs figures.

Mirror data can differ from official records because of valuation (FOB vs CIF), recording dates and re-exports through third countries.

FAQ

Common questions

Why does the data come from other countries and not from Venezuela?

Venezuela has not reported its foreign trade statistics to UN Comtrade since 2013. That is why we use mirror data: what each partner declares it sold to or bought from Venezuela.

How often is this page updated?

When UN Comtrade publishes a complete year for the main partners. This page uses 2024, retrieved on 2026-10-18.

Why is oil shown only as a total?

To keep the focus on industrial goods. Oil and oil products (HS 27) are one share of what partners report importing from Venezuela, with no destination split.

Can I use this data?

Yes, citing the source: “VN Industrial using UN Comtrade data”. The CSV download includes the attribution, the year and the method.

How can VN help my brand sell in Venezuela?
